The Legislature adjourned just minutes before 4:30pm. 42 new bills have been introduced including LB1152 from Senator Brewer to change provisions relating to elections ( https://nebraskalegislature.gov/FloorDocs/108/PDF/Intro/LB1152.pdf ) this proposal still allows for exemption to showing an ID; illness, disability, and for religious reasons.
Rule change proposals 23 and 25 were passed. Of course, every Democrat took their shot at gaslighting the conservatives for trying to solve the dysfunction of the last session, which was their fault. The Dems hypocritically bring up words like “non-partisanship”, “institution”, or “trust” as they talk out of both sides of their mouth.
Rules debate will continue tomorrow at 10am.
Newly introduced bills are being scheduled for public hearings. January 22nd LB1027 from Clements will be heard in the Education committee in RM1525 at 1:30pm. This is a GOOD bill aimed at strengthening the ability to homeschool. January 23rd LB999 from Ibach will be heard in the Agriculture Committee in RM2102 at 1:30pm. This bill raises some questions, but it is claimed that this legislation would benefit our hemp producers.
LB1027 – Change provisions relating to schools which elect not to meet accreditation and approval requirements. https://nebraskalegislature.gov/FloorDocs/108/PDF/Intro/LB1027.pdf
LB999 – Change provisions of the Nebraska Hemp Farming Act and the Uniform Controlled Substances Act https://nebraskalegislature.gov/FloorDocs/108/PDF/Intro/LB999.pdf
Legislative Recap – January 11th

We need to close down all the hemp operations in Nebraska because when the cartels get here they take them over
