REDISTRICTING
You can find all the official maps here: http://news.legislature.ne.gov/red/
Here is the list of of bills. https://nebraskalegislature.gov/bills/search_by_date.php?SessionDay=2021&special=1
All the practical options are in LB 1 to LB8. Click on the Introduced Bill and scroll down below the “legalese” to see the map.
You can kind-of match these up with a higher quality map on the first site.
Linehan (R) options are LB 1 & 3 and Wayne (D) are LB 2 & 4. LB 5-8 were decided in subcommittee and have no other options.
LB 3 (Legislative Districts) were contentious today and there may be another option that’s not official which may come out soon.
LB 7 and 8 are contentious because of Dept of Ed redistricting to advantage urban in Omaha.
Template email:
Good day,
I’m reaching out to ensure our redistricting is equal and fair. The current maps proposed by democratic public servants place Omaha in a position that leaves rural Nebraska without fair representation. I will be following the process to ensure accountability.
To that end, I submit my opposition to LB2, LB4 and LB7 & LB8
And a neutral position on LB1 and LB3 as I feel there’s still some work to be done, but feel this map to be more fairly drawn.
Sincerely,
