Call to Action – Proposed Health Standards, NE Department of Education

Okay, NE Parents.

Here is what is being proposed. A team member called already and talked to the state department of education and this is in fact accurate. They had educators write these standards. We need to GET LOUD!

Here are the details you need to know:

1.This a draft. The next state board of education meeting is being held on April 2nd at 9:00 a.m. at the Courtyard Marriott in Lincoln. PLEASE COME. This effects the entire state, not just Omaha.

2. The actual standards are set to be voted on in the fall of 2021.

3. YOU NEED TO FILL OUT THIS SURVEY! To tell them you do not want this in our schools! https://nde.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8dI1y2pRSfXlG8R
You can access the full document here. It is 60 pages and covers K-12 education. Click Health Education Standards off to the right. https://www.education.ne.gov/…/health-education…/

  1. Thank you! Question: What do we select on the survey? All classes? Or just the high school health class? Which probably wouldn’t address kindergarten…..
