NAGO is Growing

Preserving Our Liberty

Nebraskans Against Government Overreach is quickly growing and networking with the many other Freedom-Loving groups across Nebraska! It has become imperative that the citizens across this great state UNITE in Freedom as the agenda to end this great Nation as we know it is continues to encroach on our everyday lives.

However, many people are left with these questions: who is doing this?, why are they doing this?, and what can I do about it?

Who is doing this?

This is a question, unfortunately, the we cannot answer in fully in one paragraph – in fact, many people have written books about this topic alone!

What we can tell you is that in Nebraska, the ‘who’ is doing this falls under the responsibility of several public officials. The Emergency Status Gov. Ricketts has us under is still in effect despite moving us out of all restrictions – the emergency remains. This emergency status allows the local governing bodies of the various counties or cities with mask mandates and social restrictions to continue.

Why are they doing this?

Depends on who you ask.

If you ask our State Government – the emergency status allows the money to flow. So, despite no longer being at a level of risk, the emergency stays while we recover from the restrictions imposed.

If you ask our Local Governments – we continue to experience restrictions because more people need to be vaccinated, we’re at the risk of future waves of covid-19, and it also allows them to receive federal covid-19 relief funding.

If you ask those of us at NAGO – we believe that there is a larger agenda at play to restrict healthy citizens and require their conformity in order to participate in public. The government overreach is invading from all directions; medical freedoms, 1st amendment freedoms, 2nd Amendment freedoms, consumer rights, parental rights, our taxes and nearly every facet of our lives is covered in governmental red-tape. Just recently a gentleman from the UK, currently living in Lincoln, gawks at the blinders over American’s eyes as he stated that at this point in time the US is under more communist control than Russia!

What can YOU do about it?

Join us! Together we are going to end the Government Overreach. For too long we have had allowed the government to make decisions without the watchful eye of the general public. They will NO LONGER have the comfort of our silence. Nebraskans Against Government Overreach is actively networking across every city and county of this great state to establish active patriots to watch over their local government and encourage community participation. It is time we all UNITE to take back the control of We The People. From our research it is possible for the people to impose their will on the limit of their local government.

Take Omaha’s Charter for example:

Section 2.18. – Initiative.

Ordinances or amendments to existing ordinances may be submitted to the Council by a petition signed by registered electors of the city equal to at least 15 per cent of the vote for the office of Mayor cast at the last preceding general city election. Initiative petitions shall be uniform in character, shall contain the proposed ordinance in full, shall set forth the address of each person signing, shall be in the form prescribed by the City Clerk, and shall be filed with the City Clerk.

The clerk shall within twenty days verify the sufficiency of the signatures thereto, and if found sufficient, transmit the petition to the Council, which shall proceed with the proposal in the regular manner herein provided. The Council shall either enact the ordinance without amendment or reject it within thirty days. In the event the Council shall fail to enact such ordinance or amendment, the Council shall, at the next regular election held within the city, submit the same to a vote of the people. The City Clerk shall issue a proclamation notifying the electors at least thirty days prior to such election and shall cause to be published a notice of the election and a copy of the proposed ordinance in each of the daily newspapers of general circulation in the city. Such publication shall be not more than twenty nor less than ten days before the election. All initiatedordinances shall have a title which shall state, in a general way, the purpose and intent of such ordinance. No initiative petition shall contain more than one subject; subparts of the same subject matter of the initiative petition must be separately titled and enumerated. The form of ballot used for such election shall be prepared by the City Attorney and shall contain the title of such ordinance. In initiative elections the question shall be determined by a majority of the electors voting on the question.

(Ord. No. 36651, § 1, special election of 5-9-05)

This portion, as you can see, allows the will of the public to completely circumvent the local government. This is not only how we will END the mask mandate in Omaha but ALSO prevent them from doing such ever again.

We highly encourage YOU to organize with your local community and closely analyze your local charter. Even if you are not facing a mask mandate, figuring out where the power of the people lies allows your community to ensure that there is no present or future threat overreach.

Don’t know where to get started?

Feel free to reach out to one of the many amazing leaders with NAGO and we will be happy to help you find the active groups local to you or get one started! View our contacts here.

Don’t forget!!! We’re going to begin the petition to end the mandate in Omaha April 8th and we will need to raise more funds to print the petition and advertise to residents in the area. Sign-Up sheets will begin circulating this week! Please be on the look-out to sign-up!
We’re also always working towards printing out more educational material to pass out.
