It’s been a FULL day!!!
NAGO leaders testified on one of the bills on our Legislative Plan today! LB310; to provide an exemption to the Newborn Screening. It was great to see a growing level of support this year with 129 in support and only 69 against!

Please continue to express your support for LB310! Email the Health and Human Services Committee to vote LB310 out of Committee and YOUR Senator to vote yay on the floor!

Winner Take All
Well.. Due to LB310 happening concurrently with WTA hearings, we missed the first 2 hours. We will go through the beginning testimony later. When passing by, it looked like maybe a dozen showed up in support. However, the last 4-5 hours was solid opposition testimony.
In the end, the final count was 1599 opponents 468 proponent 4 neutral.
It’s hard not to feel bad for the introducing senator. After being railed last summer by Charlie Kirk and the NEGOP, Lippincott was absolutely made to believe there would be far more support. Maybe it’s in part because the presidential election is over, and with Trump in office, everyone just went back to life, or the facade of majority support was just that.
Either way! It will certainly be interesting to see where WTA goes from here. Will the committee senators ignore the overwhelming opposition and push it through for a Republican win? Or will it die there in committee?
There is still time to make your voice heard. It won’t be in the record, but you can definitely still encourage the senators.
