Is it so hard not to provide kids with obscene material?

Debate began this evening on LB441, Senator Albrecht’s bill to eliminate protections for providing obscene material to children in K-12 schools and libraries.

The democrats are in full filibuster mode. 🤯 Mind-blowing isn’t it!? They (Conrad, M. Cavanaugh, Dungan, Hunt, J. Cavanaugh) spent hours attempting to justify the horrific and obscene material shared in the transcripts from LB441 public hearing.

🚫 Kids don’t need to read about sexual assault and descriptive interactions in inappropriate relationships to learn about it, to know it’s wrong, or to not feel alone. 🚫 There is no literary, artistic, or scientific basis for this content. These were just a few of the most twisted justifications. 🚫 The senators are adults, and when confronted with a material example from the public hearing, they couldn’t handle it.

The excerpt read by Senator Halloran and the meltdown from Senator M. Cavanaugh is already hitting the news and scattered across X.

Senator Julie Slama has jumped right on board and is calling for Senator Halloran’s resignation.

While the democrats and media are going to latch onto any opportunity for a scandal, the focus should remain on ensuring we protect children from obscene material, especially material that makes even a room full of adults visibly uncomfortable and reactionary.

Lastly, we want to make mention of appreciation for Senator Wayne’s comment of support for LB441. As chair of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Wayne sat through the entirety of testimony on LB441. It was good of him to acknowledge how horrific the excerpts were and that this content belongs nowhere near children.

🚨 No one has a right to subject children to graphic and obscene material. Period. 🚨

Email our Senators and encourage their support for LB441! Protect Nebraska’s Children!!!
