The Legislature adjourned at 3:14pm today. 31 more bills have been introduced. Senator Slama has carried over LB94, which was majorly opposed last session due to the potential furtherance of CBDCs, today Slama submitted an amendment ( AM2063 – https://nebraskalegislature.gov/FloorDocs/108/PDF/AM/AM2063.pdf ) which states NE does NOT support CBDCs. Unfortunately, it’s still a bad bill that creates regulations for cryptocurrencies. Please email jslama@leg.ne.gov and ask her to Indefinitely Postpone LB94.
Tomorrow morning begins rule debate at the Legislature. Tune in live on Nebraska Public Media website. *With the potential for more winter storms, there may be adjustments to their schedule*
Of the 34 rule proposals, 6 have moved forward.

Their main focus will be on cloture, eliminating secret ballot voting, and discussion on limiting the number of bills introduced by each Senator.
We will continue to dive into each of the bills introduced and provide more details as we move into more hearings. Currently, we have our eye on LB828, a BAD bill that would implement stringent regulations on beekeepers across the state. LB31, a GOOD bill that would require train crews of at least two individuals as prescribed. LB1027 a GOOD bill which would change provisions relating to schools which elect not to meet accreditation and approval requirements. And lastly, LB1060 a GOOD bill which would provide an exemption from newborn screening.
