With this bills introduction we’ve heard more opposition rising up from the Teacher’s Association and entities alike making the claim that “school choice” will bankrupt public schools.
Our response: So you’re telling me that if the parents have the option to take their child and money out of Public schools that they’re all going to choose an alternative? Public schools can’t compete in an open educational playground? Sounds like what they’re really saying is that given the choice, public schools are considered subpar.

The concept of providing doula services sounds like a wonderful thing. However, there are several concepts to take into consideration. 1. Doulas are typically expensive, many who want doulas cannot afford them, but our tax dollars are going to afford troubled youth FREE care of their own choice? 2. Why does this legislation explicitly state that the doula cannot be denied even if they themselves are currently in legal troubles? How many doulas are going through probation or otherwise a criminal and needing this distinction in law? 3. On page 3 they include accompaniment to a termination procedure, makes you wonder about the “abortion doula” that testified in support of Hunts constitutional amendment for abortion, is this legislation a guise to allow “abortion doulas” to help youth receive their abortions in prison?
