Description: Prohibit government entities and officials from keeping certain lists relating to the ownership of firearms and prohibit using merchant category codes to distinguish firearm retailers
Statement of Intent: *LB686 states that no government entity shall keep or cause to be kept any list, record,or registry of privately owned firearms or the owners of firearms except for certain law enforcement actions. It states a card network will not require or incentivize the use of a merchant category code ina manner that distinguishes a firearm retailer from other retailers. The bill gives powers to the Attorney General to investigate allegations that a person or entity has violated the law and provides civil remedies.*

Statement of Intent: *LB 551 removes the ability to grant tenure from State Universities, Colleges, and CommunityColleges going forward. The bill instead asks each system to create and replace tenure withthe following.
1. Employee agreements. Acceptable grounds for termination of faculty shall include, but notbe limited to, just cause, program discontinuance, and financial exigency.
2. Annual performance evaluations of all faculty.
3. Minimum standards of good practice for faculty members; Standards for reviewand discipline of faculty members; and Procedures for dismissal for cause, program discontinuance, and financial exigency.*

More Information: This amendment makes it so superintendents can not work anywhere else in the education related fields while under contract as a superintendent. It looks as though the goal is to eliminate conflicts of interest for the superintendent.
